A TV program in which the Wonder Girls members appear as the protagonists will be broadcast all around the USA from next month. JYP Entertainment said on January 3, "The TV movie entitled 'The Wonder Girls' will air its first episode on February 2 on the cable channel TeenNick." TeenNick is a subsidiary channel of Viacom media, which is one of the top four media groups in the world, targeting teenagers. JYP said, "The president of the TeenNick, Nick Cannon, who is well-known as the husband of pop star Mariah Carey, reportedly decided to produce the movie about the Wonder Girls as he highly evaluated the Wonder Girls' capability to become stars." JYP revealed that it might be the first time for Asian singers to appear as protagonists of a TV program in America.
"The Wonder Girls" will deal with various episodes that the group members could have encountered in the USA while holding activities. JYP introduced the show, saying, "It will be a fictional story based on the story that could probably happen in reality for the Wonder Girls members.”
The group members of the Wonder Girls will participate in the "2012 International Consumer Electronics Show" (CES) in Las Vegas on January 11 to hold an event to release the music video of the theme song for the program entitled "The DJ Is Mine" before it will begin airing. The group members, JYP producer Park Jin Young, and TeenNick president Nick Cannon will attend the event.
